The purpose of the 2022 Harm Reduction Summit was to provide the opportunity for officials to learn about harm reduction/disease prevention strategies and to share best practices with participants to broaden the impact of harm reduction operations throughout Kentucky. The Summit is open to intra- and interstate Public Health Professionals, Healthcare Professionals, First Responders, Local and State Government Officials, Educators, Community Leaders, Local Health Department Boards of Health Members, and other professionals who work in Harm Reduction. The summit will highlight best practices, statutes, and policies related to implementing and maintaining harm reduction programs throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The official theme for the Summit, “Ending the Epidemics”, will focus on Harm Reduction, disease prevention including Hepatitis C (HCV) and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)/Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS), opioid use disorder, substance use disorder (SUD), neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS), suicide prevention, and other Harm Reduction-related topics.
