Needs Statement

The Kentucky Perinatal Quality Collaborative (KyPQC) and the Kentucky Maternal Morbidity and Mortality Task Force (KyMMM) are committed to advancing high-quality, evidence-based care for all birthing patients across the Commonwealth. A key goal of both initiatives is to promote consistent clinical practices and protocols that reflect current standards of care, regardless of race, ethnicity, income, geography, language, marital status, sexual orientation, mental health status, substance use disorder, or other social or structural factors. The annual Kentucky Symposium for Maternal and Infant Outcomes provides a platform to educate stakeholders on clinical guidelines, showcase effective models of care, and highlight supportive services that contribute to improved maternal and infant outcomes. This year’s meeting emphasizes the value of team-based care and the integration of social support systems to ensure comprehensive care from pregnancy through the first year postpartum. All presentations are peer-reviewed, and speakers are selected based on their expertise, credentials, and commitment to improving perinatal health across diverse populations.
