Overview

The Dr. Nirmala Desai Neonatal Nutrition Symposium is an interdisciplinary conference focused on highlighting evidenced based practice and guidelines for a variety of nutritionally relevant topics in neonates. Participants will hear from expert physician and Registered Dietitian speakers on topics such as parenteral nutrition, growth and body composition, human milk and necrotizing enterocolitis, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and early nutrition’s influence on growth and neurodevelopment. Current research, practice guidelines, and nutritional challenges that the NICU interdisciplinary team faces will be at the forefront of the symposium, in addition to practical application that participants can bring back to their respective institutions. Tours of UK HealthCare’s beautiful, state of the art NICU will also be provided for those interested.
