Needs Statement

There are many living individuals living with an upper extremity amputation, but there is a limited number of physicians treating these patients. There is a disconnect between physician/provider knowledge in the realm of upper extremity amputee care and this keynote address hopes to provide the beginning stages of that knowledge/insight.

Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
1. Review unique considerations in the management of persons with upper limb amputation
2. Discuss recent developments in upper limb prosthetic technology
3. Discuss research advances in upper limb amputation rehabilitation
4. Describe knowledge gaps and future research directions in the field of upper limb amputation rehabilitation
