Seth Himelhoch, MD, MPH

Seth Himelhoch, MD, MPH received his medical degree at the University of Michigan School of Medicine (1994) and completed his residency training in general psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco (1998). He completed a fellowship in health services research through the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine (2003), where he concurrently received a Master Degree in Public Health from the Bloomberg School of Public Health (2003). Dr. Himelhoch additionally completed a fellowship in Implementation and Dissemination Science through the Implementation Research Institute (2012). He is currently a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar (Cohort 2: 2017-2020).

During his tenure with the University of Maryland School of Medicine, he served in several key leadership positions including Director of the Division of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, Interim Director of the Division of Psychiatric Services, Director of the Clinical Core of the Veterans Affairs VISN 5 Mental Illness Research, Education and Clinical Center, Associate Residency Training Director for Research, and Vice Chair of the University of Maryland Institutional Review Board.

Dr. Himelhoch’s program of research focuses on developing and testing interventions to improve access and outcome of care for people with co-occurring psychiatric and drug use disorders. This work has been funded by The National Institutes of Mental Health, Drug Abuse, and Heart, Lung and Blood grants, among others. Throughout his career, he has published extensively in high impact journals, including the American Journal of Psychiatry, AIDS, JAIDS, American Journal of Addictions, and Psychiatric Services. Of note, he is currently a Fellow of the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program (2017-2020) where he and his team are working to develop interventions to assist rural communities suffering from the consequences of the opiate epidemic.

Sarah Marks, MD, MA, FAAFP

A Lexington native, Dr. Sarah Marks graduated from UK with a Bachelor of Arts degree in linguistics and English. She received her Master of Arts in linguistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and then returned to UK for medical school. She completed her family medicine residency at St. Joseph Family Medicine Residency in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She worked in medical student education and the Interprofessional Teaching Clinic at the University of Kansas before coming to the University of Kentucky in 2019. At UK, Dr. Marks is the associate program director and maternity care director in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and is focused on residency education and curriculum design. Her clinical interests include LGBTQ* health, women’s health, substance use disorders and family centered maternity care and she is one class away from completing a Master of Education degree.

Dr, Marks joined the University of Kansas Family Medicine department's Interprofessional Teaching Clinic and the Family Medicine Clerkship before coming back to UK.

Theo Oexmann, MD

Theo Oexmann is a current Resident in Psychiatry and Fellow for Child and Adolscent Psychiatry. He is originally from Owensboro Kentucky but was moved to Colorado Springs in 2000 where he found a love for the mountains and outdoor activities. He attended CU Boulder for Theatre with an interest in steel and carpentry construction and design and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree in 2012. Soon after, he returned to the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs and was accepted to medical school prior to completing Bachelor of Science in Biology. During the summers between undergraduate classes, he was a counselor and promoted to director for a unit at Cheley Colorado Camps in 2015. He graduated Cum Laude from Saint George’s University for Medical School before matching and starting with UK in Psychiatry in July 2020. He plans to continue working closely with the adolescent population and has interest in LGBTQIA+ mental health as well as gender affirming care.

Rachele Yadon, MD

Dr Rachele Yadon is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine After completing a BA in Sociology at the University of Florida she completed her Medical Degree at Duke University College of Medicine and Psychiatry Residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center She is an Associate Training Program Director for the Adult Psychiatry Residency Program and serves as a Diversity Equity and Inclusion Ambassador to the College of Medicine Within the Department she serves on the Recruitment and Retention Committee Faculty Development Committee and leads the New Faculty Committee She is passionate about resident education and her clinical interests are in Womens Reproductive Psychiatry Anxiety Disorders and Psychotherapy
