Needs Statement

Directors, coordinators, and providers at rural facilities do not have easy access to educational tools to learn about trauma performance improvement. Online educational offerings provide an alternative to live meetings and thus facilitate such access.

Target Audience

All rural trauma practitioners.

Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the unique problems of managing trauma patients in a rural setting.
  2. Discuss the national perspective on trauma care in 2014 and how rural trauma is impacted
  3. Discuss the role of critical access hospitals in a rural trauma system.
