Biosketch
Dr. Cherrier is a Neuropsychologist with special expertise in geriatrics and memory. Dr. Cherrier received her Ph.D. in 1994 and subsequently completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Neuropsychology at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Cherrier joined the University of Washington School of Medicine faculty in 1997 as an instructor and an Assistant Professor in 2003. She is head of the University of Washington Memory Research Center. Dr. Cherrier's research interests include the role of hormones in cognition and aging, dementias, neuroimaging. Research funding has included National Institute on Aging Career Development Award, as well as funding from NIH, UW Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, American Federation for Aging Research, and Department of Defense. She has several ongoing studies examining the role of androgens in cognition in older men, and studies examining the role of stress hormones on cognition and brain function using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI).
