Biosketch
Dana Carpenter is currently the Program Coordinator, Sr. for the University of Louisville’s Office of Health Promotion. Ms. Carpenter is leading the Health Literacy Initiative titled Project C.H.I.P. (Communicating Health Information Properly) where she and the Office of Health Promotion are working to increase the health literacy of college student residents of campus housing. At present, Dana is also a member of Sage Words Accessible Health Communications Advisory Board. Ms. Carpenter recently relocated from Austin, Texas where she led the Health Literacy & Cultural Competence Initiative for People’s Community Clinic. In the clinic, Dana managed a health literacy barrier elimination initiative called Project E.C.H.O (Effective Communication in a Healthcare Organization) and worked to create the Central Texas Health Literacy Action Group along with other area organizations. Dana obtained a Master of Public Health degree from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and has international public health experience
