Biosketch
Dr Tannock, MD is Associate Provost for Faculty Advancement, and a Professor in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of Kentucky. She obtained her MD and Internal Medicine training at the University of Toronto, Canada, then completed a fellowship in Metabolism, Endocrinology and Nutrition at the University of Washington. She is a physician-scientist with administrative, clinical, educational and research activities. As a clinician, Dr Tannock has a primary focus on the care of individuals with or at risk for diabetes, hyperlipidemia and cardiovascular disease, as well as directing a program providing gender affirming hormone therapy. Her research activity is focused on the role of inflammation and lipid metabolism in diabetes associated cardiovascular diseases. Dr Tannock’s administrative efforts are focused on supporting faculty across all Colleges to excel in their chosen careers, and building transparent and equitable programs addressing faculty needs.
