Biosketch
Dr. Mullins is working to develop education/ service/research partnerships aimed at improving oral health literacy and reducing oral health disparities in Appalachia and rural Kentucky.
Dr. Mullins received a DMD from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry and an MPH from the School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina. He completed a residency in Dental Public Health at the University of Kentucky and was appointed to the faculty of the Department of Community Dentistry, serving as Department Chair from 1974-1988. He has also served as Academic Dean (Head of Education Program from 1988-1994) and as Chief of the Division of Dental Public Health (1994-2004) for the UK College of Dentistry.
Dr. Mullins has received numerous professional honors including induction into the Kentucky Public Health Hall of Fame (2006), President of the American Association of Public Health Dentistry (1981-82) and President of the Kentucky Section of the American College of Dentists (1992).
