Biosketch
A. Stevens Wrightson, M.D. hails from Louisville and received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Vanderbilt University. He attended the University of Kentucky College of Medicine where he also completed his Family Medicine Residency. He has worked in Olive Hill and Morehead, KY, and for the last 20 years in Lexington. During his time in Lexington, he has held a faculty appointment in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Kentucky, has been Residency Director of that program, and has been in private practice. Since August 2010, he has been Medical Director of the Bluegrass Community Health Center in Lexington. In 2013, he helped BCHC become the first Kentucky-based health center to achieve Patient Centered Medical Home(PCMH) recognition. He maintains a part-time faculty status at the University of Kentucky, specifically working with Family Medicine residents during their Community Medicine experience. Dr. Wrightson has been a founding steering committee member of Smiles for Life, the award winning national curriculum designed to assist primary care providers in integrating oral health care in their day to day practices. Dr. Wrightson is part of a 2 doctor family. His wife, Michelle, is an internist in Lexington. They have 4 children.
