Biosketch
Joseph Martin is the Manager for Applied Learning and Development at the Allegheny County Department of Human Services. He manages trauma-related training and resource development, and facilitates DHS’ Trauma Think Tank: a cross-system collaborative which promotes a trauma-informed organizational approach. He also supports the implementation of TCOM assessments for child and adult serving systems. Joseph began his work in the field serving youth in congregate and foster care. He was a Peace Corps volunteer in Romania where he created local and international partnerships to support anti-human trafficking projects. Joe holds a master’s degree in Social and Public Policy from Duquesne University where he conducted research on racial disproportionality and disparities in the Child Welfare system.
