Biosketch
Jordan Constantine is Co-Founder at Affinità Consulting where his work focuses on actualizing individual, team and system transformation and quality improvement in child welfare organizations. He co-created the AWAKEN framework for identifying biases in individuals, teams and systems to create conscious decision making and engagement. This framework has been integrated into the child welfare certification training at South Carolina Department of Social Services.
Jordan has expertise in applying and integrating safety science in training, practice and organizational development to improve outcomes and impact organizational culture change. Before co-founding Affinità Consulting, Jordan was Director of Training and Professional Development for Tennessee’s Department of Children’s Services (DCS). He developed innovative learning collaboratives and contributed to practice model development and implementation. He co-developed a mentor certification program incorporating safety system principles and strategies, and served as a safety culture coach.
Jordan has 20+ years experience in child welfare practice and leadership in the United States and United Kingdom in Child Protective Services, Juvenile Justice, Foster Care and residential services. Prior to his role at DCS, Jordan served as Director of Practice Development and Improvement for West Sussex County Council Children’s Services. In this role he implemented system wide trauma informed practice approaches and evidence based practice models, leading on organizational culture change. He contributed to the development of a national, evidence informed training and national practice standards for residential children’s homes and was instrumental in transforming residential care practice and outcomes. Prior to this Jordan served as an Independent Reviewer conducting serious case reviews, mapping, providing independent care plan review, and recommendations for children in care. He has led training and practice inititives focused on providing safe, affirming care for LGBTQ+ youth and is committed to creating and advocating for safe, inclusive spaces of belonging for all vulnerable populations. Jordan is a board member for GLSEN, TN.
Jordan holds a Master’s Level Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work from Manchester Metropolitan University, United Kingdom and a Post-Qualifying Diploma in Child Welfare from Chichester University, United Kingdom.
