I was born and raised in New Jersey. My mother was 14 years old when she had me and, from a young age, instilled in me the importance of obtaining an education to overcome the socioeconomic hardships we faced on a daily basis. After moving to New York for medical school, I gravitated toward Obstetrics & Gynecology, as I had a sincere desire to help women like my mother who spent their lives grappling with women’s rights as related to education and reproductive health.
During my residency in California, the addition of a fellowship-trained minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon (MIGS) to our department showed me firsthand the knowledge and skill needed to become an ideal surgeon. My surgical fellowship training in Boston offered me the incredible opportunity to master my craft. Medicine has graciously allowed me to fulfill a young son’s promise of getting an education and finding a life purpose.
This newest chapter of my career revolves around following my passion for helping others as a minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon. I am truly looking forward to this endeavor and am thankful for the University of Kentucky to continue my life’s quest. My family and I are all excited to join the wonderful UK family.
