Biosketch
Dr. Miller has oversight of the experiential education program at the CEC. This center represents an academic partnership between the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy and Norton Healthcare offering pharmacy students an opportunity to complete all of their required Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) in the Louisville market area.
Dr. Miller earned a BS in pharmacy from South Dakota State University. Subsequent to this, he completed a two-year combined Hospital Pharmacy Practice MS/Residency at the University of Kansas. He later earned an MBA at the University of New Mexico, and then a PharmD from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy.
In his current position, he has a clinical service in adult parenteral nutrition support at Norton Hospital where he precepts UK pharmacy students and Norton Healthcare residents. Previous to this position, he worked in home healthcare for seventeen years where he had management oversight of nutrition support services. Dr. Miller is a Board Certified Nutrition Support Pharmacist and currently serves on Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) Nutrition Council.
Previous to his work in Louisville, Dr. Miller worked for eight years in the US FDA regulated sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing business where he held senior level management positions in the areas of Quality Assurance, Operations Management, and Business Planning. Prior to this position he was Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of New Mexico (UNM) where he developed the curriculum for the Hospital Pharmacy pathway option students.
