Biosketch
Laura Wright is a Health IT Advisor for the Kentucky Regional Extension Center (KY REC) focusing on Promoting Interoperability for Eligible Providers and Hospitals, as well as the Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative. Laura graduated from the University of Pikeville with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Sociology, and offers more than 18 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Laura currently partners with her clients to provide education, improve performance and maximize clinical quality and outcomes. Prior to joining the KY REC, Laura served as a Senior Service Account Manager at Optum 360, where she helped engage staff and drive growth by providing hands-on training and financial analysis for a large group of ambulatory practices. Earlier in her career, Laura was an ITS Physician Liaison with Catholic Health Initiatives. She was responsible for providing training and support to providers and staff related to the implementation and successful adoption of the electronic medical record. Laura’s responsibilities included proactively identifying and evaluating provider needs related to IT, as well as developing user efficiency and process improvements through optimization and continued education. She served on the CHI National AEHR Workflow Committee where she helped create and revise AEHR workflows and job aids.
