Biosketch
Dr. Richard Okragly, M.D., was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He received his undergraduate degree in Combined Sciences from Youngstown State University. He earned his medical degree from the Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, Ohio, in 2000. He completed a residency in Family Medicine at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in suburban Chicago. Dr. Okragly then completed a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, in 2004.
Dr. Okragly is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine in both Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. Dr. Okragly serves as the Program Director for the TriHealth Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship. He is active in teaching Family Medicine residents and Sports Medicine fellows. He has served as a Team Physician at Xavier University since 2005. Currently his roles include co-Medical Director and Athletics Health Care. He also serves as Team Medical Director at Mount St. Joseph University. He is a team physician for Norwood High School and the Cincinnati Rollergirls. He also is the Medical Director for the Xavier University Club Sports program. Dr. Okragly also serves as Assistant Medical Director for the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon.
Dr. Okragly has been in practice at TriHealth’s Bethesda Family Practice in Norwood, Ohio, since July of 2004. His interests in Sports Medicine include health promotion and treatment of medical conditions affecting sports and exercise participation.
