Biosketch
Jill Blancett Rhodes, PharmD, BCOP, CSP, FHOPA is a native of Paintsville, Kentucky. Dr. Rhodes is co-founder of St. Matthews Community & Specialty Pharmacy in Louisville, KY. She received her doctorate degree from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy, has advanced training in pharmacy practice and is one of the few board certified oncology pharmacists and Certified Specialty Pharmacists in Kentucky. She completed her residency in hematology and oncology at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, KY Dr. Rhodes established the first PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency Program in Louisville at University of Louisville Hospital, where she served as the founding residency director and care for individuals affected by cancer. She is highly involved in pharmacy education, mentoring residents and students as well as teaching graduate students. To date, Dr. Rhodes has precepted over 20 PGY1 / PGY2 pharmacy residents and 40 students.
Dr. Rhodes is active in pharmacy practice, serving the public as an appointed member of the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy and holding leadership roles on a national level with the Hematology Oncology Pharmacy Association. She is an advocate for pharmacy practice advancement and patient access to services. Dr. Rhodes has testified before the Kentucky Senate supporting legislation that improved oral cancer drug parity. She helped revise the Kentucky statute defining pharmacy collaborative care agreement to expand pharmacy access. She successfully led St. Matthews Community and Specialty Pharmacies to achieve PCAB accreditation and dual specialty accreditation with URAC and ACHC. At St. Matthews Pharmacy, Dr. Rhodes helped develop the first in state pharmacist-led MAT (medication assisted therapy) program for opioid addiction. The program was featured in Pharmacist Today is currently one of only six pharmacies in Kentucky in the KORE (Kentucky Opioid Recovery Effort) grant pilot program. This program is focused on growing pharmacist-provided non-opioid MAT for addiction treatment and expanding access to treatment.
