Biosketch
Rachel Jenkins, MSN, RN began her nursing career in critical and neuro-intensive care after completing the BSN program at the University of Kentucky. She returned to her hometown in 2003 to work for Appalachian Regional Healthcare at the Harlan ARH location. Her roles in ARH have included house nurse coordinator, educator, and emergency department director. Rachel implemented the formal stroke program at Harlan and led the hospital to acute stroke ready certification in 2017. She remains stroke program coordinator at Harlan ARH while now serving in a leadership role for stroke in the ARH system of 13 acute and critical access hospitals. Other responsibilities include trauma education as TNCC course director, system sepsis quality team lead and Lean Six Sigma project leader. Rachel completed a master’s degree in nursing education from King University in spring 2019.
