Christopher Abert

Christopher Abert is a widely respected leader and advocate in the fields of Substance Use Disorder, Harm Reduction and Hepatitis C elimination. He was the founder and former director of both the Indiana Recovery Alliance and the Southwest Recovery Alliance. He currently serves as the director of the New York Recovery Alliance. These Harm Reduction programs empower impacted people to make positive changes for themselves and their communities. In addition to distributing life saving supplies such as naloxone and sterile syringes, these organizations also advocate “upstream” for the implementation of the evidence based policies needed to end the HIV, HCV and overdose syndemic.
