Biosketch
Dr. Tuprie received his medical education from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, was a clinical research fellow at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Stobhill General Hospital, and lectured at the University of East Africa Medical School, Nairobi, Kenya.
Professor Turpieās research interests include new antithrombotic drugs for the management of venous and arterial thrombosis, and anticoagulant therapy in patients with prosthetic heart valves.
He has served on numerous committees and is a frequent lecturer at professional meetings worldwide. Professor Turpie has authored more than 700 articles, abstracts, book chapters, and books, and he has been a reviewer for many international journals, in addition to serving on the editorial boards of Vascular Medicine and Heart Drug.
