Biosketch
Dr. James Go, hailing from Vallejo, CA, received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of California, San Fransisco School of Pharmacy in May 2017. His practice areas of interest include antimicrobial resistance and HIV. On top of his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Go is currently the Chief Resident, chair of the Information Technology (IT) committee, and a member of the UK HealthCare Antimicrobial Stewardship committee. Dr. Go is actively involved with teaching, serving as a preceptor to fourth year pharmacy students on rotations, facilitating small group discussions and labs, and providing didactic lectures to students at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. As a PGY1 at the University of Kentucky, he completed the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Certificate Program and serves as a lecturer for the Infectious Diseases Elective. His current research project is titled, "Piperacillin/Tazobactam Versus Cefepime or a Carbapenem for Infections Caused by Serratia, Citrobacter, or Enterobacter. He will begin research focusing on the optimal duration of treatment for gram-negative bacteremia. Ultimately, he plans to pursue a position as an infectious diseases clinical pharmacist and adjunct faculty at an academic hospital affiliated with a school of pharmacy. Outside of pharmacy, he enjoys traveling, keeping active through sports like tennis and volleyball, and bringing diversity to his coresidents through exotic foods and lack of East Coast knowledge.
