Biosketch
Following an Infectious Disease fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Godofsky settled in private practice and clinical research as CEO of Bach & Godofsky, MD, PA, in Bradenton, Florida.
The practice currently consists of six physicians, over thirty employees, and is involved in infectious disease consultation, outpatient antibiotic therapy, wound care, HIV care, Hepatitis C care, and clinical research.
Dr. Godofsky serves as the Medical Director of the wound care center at Bach & Godofsky, a unique facility that cares for over 100 patients daily. His particular area of interest is in new drug development for chronic viral Hepatitis C. As the Director of the University Hepatitis Center, Dr. Godofsky has been a principal investigator in nearly 100 FDA clinical trials, published or presented over 50 scientific papers, and lectures extensively on his fields of research and patient management.
Dr. Godofsky has served on the Program Committee, the Clinical Affairs Committee, the Standards and Practice Guidelines Committee, and the Research Committee of the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA). Dr. Godofsky currently serves on the IDSA/AASLD Hepatitis C Guidance Committee. He is the 2014 recipient of the IDSA Clinician of the Year Award.
Dr. Godofsky graduated cum laude from Georgetown University School of Medicine, and completed an Internal Medicine internship and residency at the New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center in New York.
