Biosketch
Dr. Hogue is a highly regarded expert in the area of immunization practice, vaccines, and vaccine-preventable diseases. Having published dozens of manuscripts and book chapters on the subject, he provides education on vaccine-preventable diseases to medical, nursing, and pharmacy professionals across the United States and globally.
He is an active member of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) and the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists (ASHP). He is the speaker-elect and trustee-elect of the APhA, former president of the APhA Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management, and was on the original staff development team and faculty for APhA’s Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery: A National Certificate Program for Pharmacists. Dr. Hogue is in his second term on the Board of Directors for the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID). He is a Fellow of the National Academies of Practice and Fellow of APhA. Dr. Hogue was awarded the Practice Management Excellence Award by APhA in 2015, APhA’s highest management award. In addition, Dr. Hogue is a member of the Gerontological Society of America, the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, the Alabama Pharmacy Association, and the Federation International Pharmaceutique.
