Biosketch
Dr David Shemesh is Director of the Vascular Access Unit in Shaare Zedek Medical Centre Jerusalem Israel The centre is the major provider of vascular access for dialysis units in Jerusalem and receives referrals from many other units throughout the country Dr Shemesh is a graduate of the Hebrew University Hadassa Medical School in Jerusalem He is a specialist vascular surgeon and holds a current Registered Vascular Technician certificate from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers He lectures at workshops around the country for dialysis nurses and technicians He has published and presented several papers regarding establishment of the vascular access centre for construction and maintenance of arteriovenous access
