Biosketch
Jessica Burris, PhD is a licensed psychologist and UK faculty member with expertise in cancer survivorship and health promotion. She has over a decade of direct clinical experience working with adults who have a chronic disease, such as cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and painful conditions like fibromyalgia. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Burris maintains an active clinical research program that focuses on psychosocial functioning and smoking cessation after a cancer diagnosis. She is particularly committed to understanding and promoting the health and wellbeing of rural and underserved cancer survivors, with a focus on those who live in Appalachia Kentucky. Dr. Burris is the co-lead of the Kentucky LEADS Collaborative Lung Cancer Survivorship Care Program and is excited to ground this work in rural Kentucky.
