A native of Georgia, Dr. Savoie attended the University of Georgia for his undergraduate degree before pursuing a Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine campus in Suwanee, GA. He then completed his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of Kentucky where his knowledge of functional impairments and disability expanded to include those suffering from brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, neuromuscular disorders, and cancer.
Following residency, he elected to remain at the University of Kentucky to establish an Oncology-specific PM&R program within the Markey Cancer Center. His expertise and focus is finding the root causes of disability, then diagnosing and treating those impairments to help patients return to the level of independence and quality of life they experienced prior to their cancer diagnosis.
