Biosketch
Dr. Rondina completed medical school and residency training at the University of Utah. After completing a position as Chief Medical Resident, he joined the Department of Internal Medicine within the Division of General Internal Medicine.
Dr. Rondina is Co-Director of the University Healthcare Thrombosis Service, where he provides care to patients with, or at-risk for, thrombotic disorders. He is also an NIH-funded investigator focused on understanding how platelet, megakaryocyte, and leukocyte functions are altered in inflammatory, infection, and thrombotic conditions. Dr. Rondina’s work has received national and international recognition and contributed to improving our understanding of cellular functions during these disease processes. In addition, he has served on NIH study section, mentored numerous young investigators from within and external to the University of Utah, and served as referee for peer reviewed journals. Dr. Rondina’s expertise in thrombotic and inflammatory disorders and his work uniting basic science and clinical research supports the mission of the University of Utah in providing cutting edge, personalized healthcare to our patients and advancing our understanding of how to prevent and treat thrombotic disorders.
He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (Internal Medicine).
