Biosketch
Shubham Gupta received his medical degree from All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India. He finished his urology residency at the University of Mississippi. Subsequently, he completed an advanced fellowship in reconstructive urology and genitourinary cancer survivorship at Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina. Additionally, Gupta has completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where he worked on animal models of prostate cancer progression and treatment.
Gupta's clinical interests include urethral stricture disease, erectile dysfunction, and urinary incontinence after treatment for prostate cancer (surgery or radiation). He is specifically skilled in the management of complex genitourinary complications including scar tissue (bladder neck contracture, ureteral stricture), fistulas, radiation cystitis, and voiding dysfunction that survivors of genitourinary cancers face today. Gupta is able to offer advanced surgical care including urethroplasty, bladder augmentation and replacement, ileal conduit urinary diversion, artificial urinary sphincter, male sling, penile prosthesis, ureteral reimplantation, peyronie’s plaque excision and grafting, peyronie’s plication and concealed penis repair.
Gupta is a member of the American Urological Association, American Medical Association, and Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons.
