Biosketch
Lisa Lee is the Deputy Commissioner for the Department for Medicaid. She also serves as the Program Director for the Kentucky Children’s Health Insurance Program (KCHIP). Previously to being named Deputy Commissioner, Ms. Lee served as Director of Provider Operations where she oversaw a variety of Medicaid programs specifically aimed at improving the health of Kentucky Children. Programs under her direction include the Early and Periodic Screening Diagnosis and Treatment program (EPSDT), school based health services, Health Access Nurturing and Development Services (HANDS), and First Steps. In addition, Ms. Lee oversees a variety of health care programs that provide services to the entire Medicaid population, such as dental, physician, transportation, primary care centers, vision, hearing, Federally Qualified Health Care Centers, and Rural Health Clinics.
Ms. Lee has worked for Kentucky State Government for 22 years. She has worked with the Department for Medicaid Services for 14 years and served as Program Director for KCHIP for 6 years. She played a key role in streamlining the enrollment process for children in KCHIP and Medicaid in 2008 which led to enrollment of an additional 60,000 children in Medicaid and KCHIP.
