Dr. Kolodziej earned an MD from Ross University School of Medicine in Miramar, Florida. He completed residency in internal medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine at Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, Connecticut, where he also served as a chief resident. He completed cardiovascular training, which included both general cardiology and a fellowship in advanced heart failure and transplant, at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.
As an advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist with a special interest in pulmonary hypertension, Dr. Kolodziej can prescribe a special medical regimen approved specifically for the condition. Part of his practice also includes non-invasive cardiovascular evaluation with echocardiography as well as a cardiopulmonary stress test.
If a pulmonary hypertension patient also has ventricular dysfunction, Dr. Kolodziej specifically tailors regimens to include heart failure treatment. This includes not only medications but also an implantable monitor placed in the pulmonary artery known as CardioMEMS.
Dr. Kolodziej is board certified in internal medicine and is also certified by the National Board of Echocardiography.
