  1. Go to the new site
  2. Click Login in the top right corner

πŸ” Board Certification FAQs

Q: Why am I being asked for my board certification information in my profile?

Boards that have entered into an agreement with the accrediting body for CME, the ACCME, can have their MOC II and/or CME credits reported to their board through the ACCME reporting system, JA-PARS, by the accrediting CME office. If you enter the required profile and board information, any MOC II credits designated for your board will be automatically transmitted.

Q: Why can I not find my board listed under "Board certification and licenses" in my profile?

Only the boards listed under "Board certification and licenses" have agreements with the ACCME and can receive reports of MOC II and/or CME credits for their board-certified physicians from the accrediting CME office. If your board is not listed, it means they do not have an agreement with the ACCME and are not currently able to receive reports and there is no need to enter that board information.

Enrolling in Grand Rounds

Understanding Series vs Individual Sessions

Grand Rounds can be set up as:

  • Series: Multiple sessions under one Grand Rounds program (e.g., Pediatric Grand Rounds for the whole year)
  • Individual Sessions: Single, standalone events

Pre-Enrolling (Recommended)

  1. Access the session through one of these methods:
    • Click the link or scan the QR code from your Grand Rounds coordinator
    • Go to My Account β†’ find your series at the bottom of the page
    • Check the Live Events tab
  2. Log in if prompted
  3. Click Take Course to pre-enroll
  4. Attend the session
  5. Wait until the session is complete before claiming credit

Enrolling Day-Of

  1. Access the link or QR code from your coordinator
  2. Log in or create an account
  3. Click Take Course to enroll
  4. Attend the session
⏰ Important Timing: You have 30 minutes after the session starts to enroll. After that, enrollment closes. If you miss the window, contact your Grand Rounds coordinator - they may be able to enroll you manually.
πŸ“± Coming Soon: SMS text messaging for RSS attendance tracking.

What If I Try to Claim Credit Too Early?

If you attempt to claim credit before the session ends, the system will prevent you from proceeding. You must wait until the session is marked as complete by your coordinator before you can claim credit.

Claiming Credit

How to Access Your Course for Credit

You have three ways to access your course after completion:

  1. Direct link: Click the link or QR code from your coordinator
  2. My Account: Go to My Activities β†’ Pending Activities on the new site

Steps to Claim Credit

  1. Access your course using one of the methods above
  2. Click the Take Course button
  3. Complete the Course Evaluation
  4. Complete Credit Selection:
    • Click Start
    • Select your credit type for your profession
    • Enter participation hours
    • Attest to your engagement
    • Click Submit
  5. Download your Certificate
  6. Complete Commitment to Change form
⏰ Time Limit: Credit must be claimed within 60 days of the activity date. Extensions are not available after this deadline.

Understanding Automatic Credit Uploads

The new system can automatically upload credits to certain boards, but it's important to understand how this works:

πŸ“€ Automatic Credit Upload FAQ

Q: If I select my board in my CECentral profile and enter my credentials, does that mean my credits are automatically reported to that board?

No. All CME activities are uploaded to a central repository called JA-PARS, but board-specific MOC credit is only reported to that board if the activity is designated for that board by the activity director on the activity application.

  • Regular CME (AMA PRA Category 1 Creditβ„’): Always uploaded to JA-PARS.
  • MOC Credit (ABIM, ABS, ABP, etc.): Only uploaded if the activity is designated for MOC for that board.
Example: An activity will only transmit completions to ABS if it has been designated for ABS MOC credit. If the MOC component is not configured, nothing is reported to ABS, even though ABS appears on the list of participating boards.
πŸ’‘ Key Point: Adding your board information to your profile enables automatic reporting when available, but the activity itself must be designated for MOC credit for your specific board. Check the activity description to see which boards will receive MOC credit.
