Overview

The Global Health Division of the University of Kentucky Department of Emergency Medicine is hosting a 1 1/2 day travel medicine course, the Travel Medicine Leadership Symposium, designed for medical professionals who want to lead or participate in short term medical trips The course topics will cover pre-travel, risks of travel, logistics, licensing, pharmacy, security, tropical medicine, ultrasound, food and water safety, arthropod protection, tropical dermatology, malpractice, among other topics. Faculty from the University of Kentucky as well as faculty from other academic institutions will share their experience and expertise. This course will be valuable for any practitioner regardless if they have never been on a trip or been on many trips and will be an opportunity for networking with like-minded providers.

ACPEThe University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.

This knowledge-based activity has been assigned UAN and will award 10.25 contact hours (1.025 CEUs) of continuing pharmacy education credit in states that recognize ACPE providers.

Statements of participation will indicate hours and CEUs based on participation and will be issued online at the conclusion of the activity. Successful completion includes signing in at registration, attending the entire session for which credit is claimed, completing the activity evaluation and requesting credit online at conclusion of the activity. Credit will be uploaded to CPE Monitor, and participants may print a statement of credit or transcript from their NABP e-profile. The College complies with the Accreditation Standards for Continuing Pharmacy Education.

CNE

The University of Kentucky, College of Nursing is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC).

This educational activity is offered for a maximum of 10.25 ANCC contact hours.

In order to receive credit, participants complete this CNE activity and submit a credit application and evaluation form online. Certificates may be printed once the evaluation is completed.
