Target Audience

The target audience for this course includes physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, nurses, and any other individuals who participate in the prevention and treatment of substance use disorders and sustained recovery.

Objectives

Upon completion of the educational activity, participants will be able to:

1. Understanding KASPER * What is KASPER (Kentucky All Schedule Prescription Electronic Reporting)? * How to use KASPER to make safer clinical decisions. * Using data to see patterns in controlled substance use and improve prescribing.

2. Improving Patient Care for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) * An overview of Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD). * Practical ways to reduce stigma for patients receiving treatment. * Best practices for documentation and communication when prescribing controlled substances.

3. Staying Compliant and Working Together * A review of key Kentucky regulations. * The importance of ongoing education and collaboration with Narcotic Treatment Providers.
