Needs Statement

CONFIRM INFORMATION Teacher training has not traditionally included how to identify and respond to signs of mental health disorders, yet they work with youth on a daily basis who are experiencing these conditions. Teachers are not expected to diagnose or treat students, yet they can potentially save lives and ameliorate suffering by knowing when an adolescent may need help from a mental health professional and how to link that adolescent with help. This module will illustrate what a mental health crisis may look like in a classroom and how to respond.
