Needs Statement

Vaccine hesitancy is a major issue that primary care physicians, nurses, and pharmacists currently face. This enduring module would teach the healthcare team how to combat vaccine hesitancy issues head-on by discerning personality types, addressing fears, and dispelling myths about the COVID-19 vaccine. 

Target Audience

The target audience of this course includes physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, nurses, and other clinicians that need to dispel myths about the virus and the vaccine.

Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

1. Frame discussions about the severity and susceptibility to COVID-19
2. Provide information to patients about the three vaccines (their utilization, side effects, and the manufacturing process)
3. Dispel misinformation regarding the three available vaccines
4. Discuss expenses for patients who are cost-aware.
5. Identify the perceived barriers that patients encounter when accessing the COVID-19 vaccine
