Needs Statement

This presentation will increase the knowledge of what is required as part of the acute ischemic stroke work up. Discuss the stroke work up and how it relates to increased patient outcomes and decreases mortality.

Target Audience

Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Stroke Care and Education Specialists, Nurses, and other healthcare professionals with an interest in stroke care. 

Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

1. Identify the components of a “stroke work up”
2. Explain the importance of each component of the “stroke work up”
3. Describe the impact of identifying stroke etiology
