Needs Statement

Current CDC guidelines recommend universal screening of patients born between 1945 and 1965 as well as other patients based on risk.

All eligible patients are not being screened and patients with risky exposures/behaviors are difficult to link to care.

This activity has been approved by the KBML as meeting the statutory requirements of HB1.

Target Audience

Health care providers who want to identify at-risk patients and link them to care.


Upon completion of this education activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the patients at risk for HCV in Kentucky
  • Outline best practices for HCV screening and linkage to care in Kentucky
