Biosketch
Dr. James Liau is an associate professor in Plastic and Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery at the University of Kentucky. He completed medical school at the University of Kentucky. Liau went onto his internship at UC-Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, then returned to UK to complete a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency. Following residency, Dr. Liau completed his fellowship in Pediatric Reconstructive Surgery and Craniofacial Surgery at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He currently serves as the Team Leader for UK’s Multidisciplinary Cleft Team.
Dr. Liau practices the complete spectrum of plastic and reconstructive surgery. He also specializes in pediatric plastic and reconstructive surgery and craniofacial surgery, focusing on comprehensive treatment of children with cleft lips and palates, congenital craniofacial deformities, as well as other more unique congenital problems requiring pediatric plastic surgery.
Areas of special interest to Dr. Liau include congenital problems requiring pediatric plastic surgery, aesthetic surgery, congential anomalies, craniofacial reconstruction, and congenital craniofacial deformities.
Dr. Liau is a member of the American Association of Pediatric Plastic Surgeons, American Society of Plastic surgeons, American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons and Kentucky Society of Plastic Surgeons.
