Biosketch
Dr. Kane is an international authority on schizophrenia treatment and research. He played a pivotal role in developing clozapine for use in treatment-refractory schizophrenia with funding from the National Institutes Of Health (NIH), he and his team have continued to study the role of clozapine in less severely ill patients and in children and adolescents with early-onset schizophrenia. Dr. Kane and his research team have also collaborated with biotechnology companies in studying genetic vulnerability to the serious side effect that limits clozapine’s wider use.
