Biosketch
Dr. John Van Aalst graduated from Vanderbilt University Medical School in 1993 and went on to do a residency at Case Western Reserve in 2001. In 2003 he transitioned to a Plastic Surgery Residency Program at Indiana University and finished a Craniofacial Fellowship in 2004. Dr. van Aalst is a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in long-term outcomes in cleft and craniofacial patients. His research includes tissue engineered bone and complex tissues for craniofacial defects; nanotechnology applications for chondrogenesis, osteogenesis and skin production.
