Biosketch
Bruce is responsible for managing the association's overall regulatory policy activities to ensure its consistency with the business needs of the association's membership.
Additionally, he oversees the public policy issues in Congress and relevant regulatory agencies that advance the health and safety performance of the U.S. mining industry and of the manufacturers that provide equipment to the industry. This includes developing legal, regulatory and congressional strategies to advance the association's public policy objectives.
Bruce joined NMA in 1981 following five years working on Capitol Hill on the staff of Rep. Nick Rahall (D-W.Va.), where he was responsible for managing the congressman's energy and lands portfolio, in addition to serving as the congressman's legislative director.
Bruce received his undergraduate from George Washington University and his post graduate degree from the University of Maryland.
