Accreditation Information

   The University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.

 

This knowledge-based activity has been assigned 022-000-10-011-L02-P & 022-000-10-012-L03-P and will award 6.00 contact hours (0.60 CEU) of continuing pharmacy education credit in states that recognize ACPE providers.

 

Statements of credit will indicate hours and CEUs based on participation and will be issued online at the conclusion of the activity. Successful completion includes signing in at registration, attending the entire session for which credit is claimed, completing the activity evaluation and requesting credit online at conclusion of the activity. The College complies with the Accreditation Standards for Continuing Pharmacy Education.

Human Immunodeficiency Virus Infection: A Modern Day Epidemic
1. Formulate a pharmacologic treatment plan based on patient specific laboratory and psychosocial parameters.
2. Describe advances in the treatment of HIV disease.
3. List available antiretrovirals for the management of HIV disease.
 
Pharmacists and Board of Pharmacy: Regarding Addiction Issues
1. Identify risk factors for chemical dependency.
2. Describe some signs and symptoms of the disease.
3. Decide who to call to report a problem.
4. Distinguish appropriate treatment.
5. Discuss how the Board of Pharmacy may handle cases that have addiction as a factor.

Legislative Update
1. Review the process by which legislation is introduced, considered, and, if successful, passed by the Kentucky General Assembly.
2. Review and discuss recent legislation introduced during the 2010 Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly impacting the practice of pharmacy in Kentucky.
