Activity Description

This educational activity is designed to provide useful and the most up-to-date information about best practices in office-based opioid dependence treatment that minimize risk of buprenorphine diversion and misuse from patients in your practice.

Attendee Information

By registering for this CME activity as a doctor with a DEA X-license, you are agreeing to participate in a research project evaluating the efficacy of this CME to teach physicians about best practice behaviors to decrease buprenorphine diversion and misuse. The research project is being conducted by Michelle Lofwall, MD, and research staff at the University of Kentucky (UK).

You will be asked to complete four surveys as part of this study:
    1 before the CME
    1 right after the CME
1 at 1-month after the CME
1 at 3-months after the CME

When registering, you will be assigned a unique personal identifying number (UPIN) that will appear on all your surveys in order to maintain strict confidentiality of your answers.

Questions will ask about medical knowledge and office-based buprenorphine treatment practice. You will be reminded by e-mail and/or phone of when it is time to complete a survey. Each survey takes ~15 minutes to complete on-line (or paper by request).

Before entering the CME event, you will be requested to complete the pre-CME survey. In order to receive CME credit, you will be requested to complete the immediate post-CME event survey. If you complete ALL four surveys, you will receive an Amazon gift card valued at $99.

There is no risk or legal, psychological or medical harm from participating and no alternative CME activities on this topic to our knowledge. You may benefit from gaining more medical practice knowledge and earning a gift card. Participation is voluntary. You may choose to not participate or discontinue participation at any time without penalty or loss of benefits to which you are entitled.
