Behavioral Health Training for Providers

Welcome

Welcome to the Integrated Primary Care and Behavioral Health Supported by the Kentucky Health Information Exchange modules. These modules present information about primary care and behavioral health integration from both the national healthcare perspective and from the viewpoint of Kentucky practitioners and behavioral health advocates. Additionally, there is information about the role the Kentucky Health Information Exchange performs in supporting integration, developing a consent form for the release of a patient’s behavioral health records and in exchanging these records by use of the exchange. Finally, the modules include examples and use cases of primary care behavioral health integration by Kentucky healthcare providers and training for healthcare providers in the use of the behavioral health consent form. This project was funded by the SAMHSA/HRSA Center for Integrated Solutions (CIHS) and administrated by the National Council for Behavioral Healthcare.

Continuing Education Credits

At the conclusion of each module, you will be asked to complete a posttest and evaluation of the module prior to receiving your CE certificate. We will use your evaluation of the activities to enhance future continuing education offerings.

The goal of the Kentucky Health Information Exchange is to support efficient and effective patient care with the delivery of consolidated health information to the point of care. A key message of SAMHSA is behavioral health is essential to health. KHIE is proud to work in conjunction with our federal partners on this project to make behavioral health patients' information available on the exchange. We hope this information contributes to your understanding of primary care behavioral health integration, KHIE and the consent process.
