This is the online home for web-based modules on the topic of Electronic Health Records (EHR). The Regional Extension Center and UKHealthcare CECentral are offering these modules free of charge to anyone who would like to participate.
The Kentucky Regional Extension Center (KY REC) provides services to priority primary care providers (PPCPs) to assist them in adopting and achieving meaningful use of electronic health records (EHRs). The KY REC will also assist providers in reaching interoperability with other providers and agencies. Achieving meaningful use will enable providers to become eligible for incentive payments from Medicare and Medicaid.
The KY REC, housed at the University of Kentucky, is one of sixty regional extension centers that received funding from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology in the US Department of Health and Human Services.
The long-term vision of Kentucky Regional Extension Center is to improve the quality and value of health care for the people of Kentucky and to serve as a model for other areas that face similar challenges. This website is one way the KY REC plans to do this.
